About Me
Hello!
My name is Kristin Genszler and I am a recent graduate of Elon University with a B.A. in Media Arts & Entertainment with a concentration in Cinema and a minor in Dance.
In the summer of 2010, I interned at Authentic Entertainment, a reality television company that produces shows such as Ace of Cakes and Toddlers & Tiaras. There, I was an editing intern putting together casting and sizzle reels for the development department. In the summer of 2011, I was an intern at the Pittsburgh Film Office where I assisted with administrative tasks, answering the public’s questions regarding productions shooting in Pittsburgh. While there, I compiled a resources brochure of various sound studios and office spaces that were available to filmmakers coming to the city. Also, through the Film Office, I was given the opportunity to work as an extras casting assistant and locations production assistant on the set of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.
One of my greatest accomplishment thus far was being selected as a screenwriting finalist for the Sprite Refreshing Films contest. As a finalist, my script was made into a short film starring Emmy Award-Winning Choreographer and So You Think You Can Dance judge Mia Michaels. In February 2012, my friend, Jay Light, received the same award for the revised 2012 Sprite Films Contest. I was brought on as a producer for the short film, responsible for managing a budget of $18,000 provided by Sprite. I also coordinated crew, casting, locations, and shooting schedules. The final film debuts online August 1, 2012.
In my final year at Elon, I was the Secretary of the Elon’s cinema organization, Cinelon, where we organized competitions and other resources for cinema majors. Additionally, I was a dedicated member of Elon’s Dance Team for four years. Dance team was a huge commitment performing at all football games and basketball games. We practiced three times per week with weight training two times per week. That is in addition to at least one or possibly two games on the weekend.
Not only am I involved in multiple organizations on campus, but I also excel in my academics. For the past four years I have continually been on the President’s List/Dean’s List for extraordinary academic achievement. I am currently a member of the academic honor societies, Phi Beta Kappa, Lambda Pi Eta, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Eta Sigma.
This blog highlights some of the projects that I have worked on during my years at Elon and my achievements. I will continue to update this blog so please check back often.

Great to hear from/about you. I have some former students who are into film. One writes/directs and the other composes scores. I may be able to put you in contact – let me know.
